Learn how to drive the design in short, iterative cycles to assess what works best for the business and the user. This course is for both UX designers and business leaders who wish to understand and improve the UX engagement model in an agile environment, how stakeholders collaborate with the design team, how to inject design thinking in the product development life cycle.

Course Objectives
  • You will learn valuable Lean UX principles, tactics, and techniques.
  • How product teams can easily incorporate design, experimentation, iteration, and continuous learning from real users into their Agile process
  • How and when to introduce what user research in different phases of product development
  • This course will position you as a professional UX designer, or pro-UX business leader in fast moving agile process depends on your career plan
  • You will be able to present yourself as a strong candidate for running efficient scrums that user experience is well thought before sprint starts rather than an after effect
Lecture and Practical Work
  • Each lecture is followed by practical hands-on work
  • Group exercise to simulate project discussion and decision making

  • We will have small quiz along the entire course
  • At the end, we will have group presentations, and a written exam
  • Final grade will be based on participation, group project evaluation, quiz and final exam
  • You will be able to show that you understand the core value of User Experience, why it matters to product and business success.

Your Instructor
 Xinyu Zhang

is a hands-on UX leader with over 20 years of dedicated experience in user experience design, research, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration, with track record of success in designing, renovating and delivering profitable solutions.

Xinyu started his UX design career in Silicon Valley since 1998, and has served with Brocade, Cisco, Symantec, Juniper and Fujitsu as senior UX principals and team leader.

He now heads the UX design and UI development team with Fujitsu Network Communications in Sunnyvale, responsible for all SDN, NFV and network management solutions. He has extensive experience in designing for both consumer and enterprise users, on web or mobile platform.

Xinyu graduated from University of West Florida with MA major in Computer Mediated Communications, and holds multiple awards winning designs and US patents.
